I came home from work today and started my workout as soon as I got in the door. Got everything set up, popped in the DVD and went at it. This was my 5th straigth day of the DDP Challenge and I was so happy that I decided to take up the challenge and completed it. I love to push myself when I workout and this challenge gave me that opportunity. I have really worked on not modifying the position unless I have to. For me these 2 workouts back to back is a great set. I love the way my body…

If you read my blog post from yesterday, then you know yesterday was my first day of DDPYOGA. I was very honest about the struggles I had, both physically and mentally. I fought through yesterday, which brings me to this morning.
Allow me to set the stage...
I've been off of work for the past two weeks while the company was in "shutdown mode" to install new machinery and repair some old machinery. I work the night shift (aka "3rd shift," "the graveyard shift,"…

In the past seven days, I completed Energy! once. I rationalized every day that I didn't push play - 5 or 6 , twenty minute sessions of a modified twenty minutes would have been way better than nothing.
I realize that.
I got another modified version completed early this morning and I feel terrific!
I'll stop overanalyzing this injury and push play again tomorrow.

So I've been at the program for about two and a half weeks and I'm feeling pretty good. I don't wake up in near the pain that I did even two weeks ago. My girlfriend nd I also completely changed our eating habits and other than the cost, I'm really enjoying that aspect too. She lost 10 lbs in the first week but I'm holding off of the scale until day 30 where I'm hoping to see definitive progress. On a negative note, I'm not seeing the flexability gains that I expected but oh well. …

First post. My Giants won yesterday and my DDPYoga 1+2 arrived in the mail today. Great start so far. Reading through manual and will get pictures, measurements, and profile complete to kick things off next week. Doc on Friday to get a thumbs up to start things off......I am so sure I can convince her that I ordered it anyway. So.....here begins a new adventure. Hope to make you all proud and challenge myself in the process.

I'm already seeing increased flexibility. I'm hoping to see more muscle definition in the coming weeks. Man, those lunges KILL me! I just want DDP to hurry up and get through them instead of talking about it! At some point I'll be doing them no sweat... well, some sweat.
I feel like the 3 days a week isn't much, and those days I don't do anything I feel like a bum. So, I'm going to step it up a bit on my own. We'll see how I do. Gonna try for 5 days a week at a minimum.
Okay, I should be in the shower and running to do some serious homework before my 11 AM class. However, I decided to write a quick blog post about my first YRG workout. My friend gave me his copy after he just didn't have time for it.
I was going to start this weekend, but life got in the way and I started today after my morning bible reading. It's official - my spine is lit and so are my arms. My knee is shaking like a scared puppy. However, the Lord did not give me the spirit of…

This is Day #1 of my journey and I just finished my very first DDPYOGA workout: Energy! It didn't take long for me to realize just how out of shape I am. I found myself huffing and puffing only a few minutes into the workout. I also had to use some modified form from time to time, as well as take an extra break or two during the second half of the workout.
I'll admit, there were a couple times when I started to question whether or not I could do this. There was a time or two when…

I guess there comes a point when we have to just give in and rest ... when passing out on the couch happens twice between 4 and 9 pm, even during one of the most exciting Super Bowl games ever, that's a sure sign that it's time ...
Of course, taking the night to rest means I must break off my Energy Streak after 15 days ...
I'm a little disheartened by this, and my brain keeps wanting to go to that place that says "what are you quitting for? what's wrong with you?"
Why…

Alright, so here's the deal.
Normally I'm very level headed about things. I enjoy taking things in stride. It's not a normal occurrence when I get a little miffed about something. It's especially not a normal occurrence when I get completely angry, but when I do, you can bet on seeing a tryzub-shaped mushroom cloud hanging over the skyline of Minneapolis.
By noone's fault on here, I have people telling me that my recent three week hiatus has landed me in the unfortunate…

Try as I did, I can no longer fit a morning workout in. Each time I did, I was almost sick to my stomach & dizzy. One morning I couldn't do down dog. Anyone else have this kind of problem?
No matter what, I'm going back to my workout before going to sleep (& squeezing in an extra one when possible). It just works better for me. And I am still going to the gym after I get out of work, but after a few years of just that, it doesn't work without journaling everything…

Finished my 7th day of DDPYOGA. I completed the 4th day of the DDP challenge. Things are going real good. Everytime I do a workout I feel so energized and pumped it's amazing. I have not felt like this with any other workout I have done. My day 7 consisted of Day 4 of the DDP Challenge. While I was finishing up RHC my kids walked in to watch what dad was doing. They asked if they could try RHC and I said sure. So I replayed the DVD and they went at it. My son Matthew did it from start to…

Let me first start out by saying that my wife and I have always tried to stay active. This could be running or resistance training or whatever. We have always considered ourselves to be "in shape".
Well we both started out with the Stand Up program to work on balance. While there are things I can do I soon realized that my balance and overall flexibility is NOT there. But this is a good thing because I learned something. I learned that there are many things I can…

So this month is Turner's syndrome awareness month and I changed my profile picture to raise awareness of this rare disorder. Turner's Syndrome has been a part of my life since I was born and is a rare chromosome disorder that only one in every 2500 girls is born with. It affects growth hormone production and girls with Turner's have short stature and without growth hormone therapy will only grow to about 4'10 to 4'11 at the most. Other physical features are a "webbed" neck, some girls…

Here I am again with another day of DDPYOGA completed. Finished Day 3 of the DDP challenge. I'm getting a little better each day with the workouts. Still getting out of my fat burning zone during the workouts, but I'm learning to either modify, get some good breaths, or just disengage my muscles but continue the workout long enough to get back in between my fat burning zone then reengage and keep pushing through. I'm feeling so good during and after my workouts. It's a great start to my…

Hello Everyone ...
Well today is just one of THOSE days. I am sorry to have to admit this, but I have to take today as a rest day. I spent the better part of my day at the hospital again and it has just wiped me out.
To workout, when I am feeling depleted ... I think would be highly counter productive. The goal is NEVER to hurt oneself or deplete oneself to the point of NOT being able to workout.
I hate that my day has gotten away from me and it has really effected…

I hurt myself on day one. The neck and shoulder remain slightly locked up. My C2-C3 herniation is a little inconvenience compared to the challenges that some folks face, but when the radicular pain runs into my shoulder and bicep, I can't do what I wanna do.
I've given myself 3 days of rest - I have actively "relaxed."
I have not done Energy! since Tuesday morning, and will reconnect with DDP tomorrow. I feel better!

Hey TeamDDPYoga! I live in Chicago and every year they hold a big Gluten and Allergy Free Expo with cooking classes, presentations, and a vendor fair. I went last year to the Vendor fair and it was pretty cool. They had a big ballroom full of different vendors there sampling their products, giving coupons and recipes. I found it very helpful in finding items that I liked and would possibly buy without having to spend the money for something I didn't know if I would like (And I…
