Had another really wired night. Was asleep by 12:30 and then back up at 4:30 am. Not really tired though, so just go with it I guess.

YRG: Ignition - Fire Up The Hips, Bring It On Home - The Finish

I don't know what anyone else thinks about this, but I purchased a weight loss hypnosis app for my ipod. It was only a couple of bucks, and it can be customized with a few settings, but basically it's an audio track that goes through a relaxation process and then there's some weight loss content. I've tried it a few times, and I definitely RELAX a lot while listening to it, so that's kind of nice, but does anyone have any experiences or thoughts on whether hypnosis might be useful or effective?
I think Stacey may have some knowledge about this Paul, but if you clean up your eating to Phase 3 Gluten, Wheat, and Dairy free, you'll drop the weight.
paul you don't need hypnosis, you need knowledge which YRG has given you and a desire to change and discipline. Now, there are times i'm not 100% strict with diet but i can tell you stuff like cream with coffee, "diet" cheese, "diet" sour cream, all work against the good you do with work outs, if you make a few little changes like dropping the cheese, youd probly get better results
Thanks for the post. I know a lot of people here really believe in omitting dairy, and it's definitely on my radar for things to try out. Since getting back on the horse, I've been following the South Beach Diet, which was referenced by Yoga Doc as an option in the YRG book. My target is a pound or two a week, and so far I'm pretty happy with my results. Of course, there's a lot of junk I can eliminate, but I'm cautious not to put myself into a state where I'm feeling deprived. I happen to love cheese... and low fat is definitely a better choice than high fat. I also love donuts, cookies, french fries, pizza, etc. My focus has totally been on eliminating sugar and refined carbs, and enjoying eating without them. So far, so good, and I'm feeling good. If/when I plateau, I'll look at incorporating something new that I can maintain.

The hypnosis was something extra to try out. Your totally right that's it not a necessity, but I have to admit it's very relaxing to listen, and if it helps me to keep my focus and determination... why not? If nothing else it's good stress release after a day of work.

Thanks for the feedback! Dairy free is on my to-do list... just not yet!
Paul, that's the thing, society has trained us to think if we don't eat the garbage were "depriving ourself" of something special or good. only thing your depriving yourself of is life. If you eat clean your body will get used to it and youll never want to go back to anything bad. When i cheat im on the toilet or feel like crap. Everything bad you eat lends to disease and inflamatory response. Simply put the ones who "insist" on donuts, pizza, tacos will never meet fitness goals and that lack of discipline lends to not meeting other goals in life. here's just an example of how to have "cheese" and make a better choice

a little late reading this. i think hypnosis can be very beneficial. i was curious if it could help me with my job. i tried it on stage at the Rivera hotel in las vegas. i felt very relaxed and very alert. i didn't feel like i was in any kind of trance. i did things on stage that i wouldn't normally do and even thou i told myself that i wouldn't do that i went ahead when told to do it. For an example when he told us to go back into the audience and return when given a command ( in this case to be a male stripper). i told myself that i didn't want to do that. but when i was told i came back on stage i started taking off my clothes(glad he stopped us before we went to far.) i had not tried it since but i think it could be useful.for instance if you tell yourself that i am going to do my YRG today you will do it.if you have to fine tune your diet it will help give you discipline to stick with your plans.
I thought it was a pretty cheap and painless thing to try. So far, I really like listening to it, but of course there's no way to really say how much it's helping or not. I can say for sure, I'm knocked out while listening to it, almost like I'm asleep and I wake right up when it's finished, and feel awesome. Like I posted before, if nothing else it provides a nice break, some stress relief, and quiet time after a day's work.

The one I'm using is an Ipod app by a guy named Erick Brown, and I think he also has some CDs available or downloads through Itunes. The sound quality is great, and the app is only $3.99. He has lots of other themes besides weight loss too.

Thanks for the post Tom! Loved your story... that would have been hilarious!
